Subscription & Credits Terms

These terms describe "credits" used by Akari Cloud's generative-AI features and how subscriptions work.
1. What credits are
Credits are a prepaid allowance for using cloud generative AI (images, video, audio), cloud transcription, and similar features ($1 = 100 credits). Credits have no cash value and cannot be refunded, transferred, redeemed for cash, or moved to another account.
2. Grants
After payment confirmation, credits are granted monthly (Pro: 2,000 credits/month; Max: 8,000 credits/month). The Free plan grants 100 credits once at sign-up, usable only to try cloud transcription.
3. Expiration
Credits granted monthly with a subscription expire within that billing period and do not roll over. Credits purchased via top-up packs remain valid for 180 days from purchase.
4. Consumption
Credits are consumed based on the model used and the amount generated. Generation (image, video, audio) and processing (e.g., transcription) are metered differently. Failed generation jobs are not charged.
5. Top-ups
Subscribers can top up credits ($5–$1,000); purchased credits are valid for 180 days. Top-ups are not available on the Free plan.
6. Price and rate changes
The number of credits each model consumes, grant amounts, and prices may change with prior notice (e.g., in-app announcements). Changes apply to future grants and consumption.
7. When you run out of credits
If you run out, you can keep going by topping up, using your own API key (BYOK), or switching to local AI. We do not apply usage-based overage charges without your consent.
8. Payment & Merchant of Record
Payment and the Merchant of Record for subscriptions and top-ups is Polar Software Inc. Cancellation is available through the Polar customer portal.
