Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

This policy describes how refunds and cancellations work for Akari subscriptions, credits, and top-up packs. Payment and the Merchant of Record is Polar Software Inc.

1. Canceling a subscription

You can cancel a subscription (Pro / Max) at any time. After canceling, you keep access until the end of the current billing period, and automatic renewal stops. We do not provide prorated refunds for mid-period cancellation.

2. Expiration of monthly credits

Credits granted monthly with a subscription expire within that billing period and do not roll over to the next month. Unused credits are not refunded.

3. Top-up packs

Credit top-up packs are available to subscribers only and remain valid for 180 days from purchase. Due to the nature of digital services, purchased credits are generally non-refundable once granted.

4. Failed generations

Failed or canceled generation jobs are not charged. Charges are finalized only on successful processing (two-phase billing). If credits are deducted despite a failure, we will return them.

5. Refund exceptions (issues on our side)

If a problem attributable to us is confirmed — such as double charging or a significant service defect — we will handle refunds or credit returns on an individual basis. Please describe the situation when you contact us.

6. How to cancel or contact us

Cancellation is available through the Polar customer portal issued at purchase. For questions or refund requests, contact legal@akari-oss.app (reply within 2 business days).

7. Note on digital content

Akari is a digital service delivered/activated immediately. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or for the cases above (issues attributable to us). See also the Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice.

This policy is a general explanation. Final handling follows the Terms of Service, the Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice, and the terms of Polar (Merchant of Record). This text is not legal advice; the content is to be reviewed by a professional before formal release.
